For my project I am going to do 5 paintings of my favorite characters from the DreamSMP, they're going to be 14x14 canvases made with acrylic paint. The painting with Ranboo is going to be completely simplistic and will add more realistic features until my painting of Wilbur, which will be almost completely realistic, with the exception of some pixely particle effects.
My timeline is going to be very basic. I've made sketches for all ofmy paintings, but I'll probably photoshop the realistic bits in right before I do the painting. And the rest of the time is just chillin’ and paintin’. The theme of each painting will show off each of the characters and who they are, and how I personally feel when I see them doing their thing.

the film just made me think about how companies and governments sort of control everything we do.do anything they don't like, even if its enjoying a song a certain way and they make us pay ridiculous fines and lock us up.
in this battle, i think i am generally neutral, but leaning towards copyleft. there is an entire culture surrounding remixing and mashing that we need to keep alive. but there should also be some limits to what we do with things. For example, let's say you wrote a song, it blew up and everyone knows it, there are 2 artists that want to "remix" your song and make it into their own style. artist 1 has made it completely different, you can still tell it's your song, but the new song is completely original. artist 2 takes your song, slows, and pitches it down and calls it new. artist 2 should probably get in trouble for that. i think that they are almost one in the same, you need production to have consumption, and you need consumption to have production. the only thing that people are doing is we are blurring the line a bit, which is perfectly fine, but the big guys in charge are taking consumption away, so we make consumption out of production, and thus you get remixing. visual arts is a bit trickier than other forms of art, people have found so many ways off ripping of other people's works in the art community. using a photo that somebody else took and painting the picture should be fine. see yourself in that situation, you took a photo and posted it on your public page, you see someone make art of that photo, chances are that you are going to be impressed by it and you would like it. in the online art community people have traced, recoloured, and stolen peoples works, and passed it off as "using a reference" or "my art style changes a lot". if you want to draw a character in your own style or make headcannons, it should be able to carry on. Goals are something everyone needs, whether they need them to live a healthy life, or need them to live happily, it’s part of everyone's lives.
My goal for the academy is to learn realism and to be able to do shading other than my usual cel shading (learning to blend shading). I came up with this goal when I was dreaming about art school. I realized that I needed to learn more than just what I know. I do have a good sense of shade and light already, but I want to learn how to use this in a different setting, something out of my comfort zone. This is important for me because I've always wanted to stay with what I know, but that's gotta change if I want to go far in life! This goal for me was pretty unpredictable. I had no clue if it was going to take me one week or a hundred. It took me some time, but after a good while of thinking, I thought if I practiced whenever I made a new drawing on my own, plus practicing in my art class, I would be able to do it in a couple months. It could maybe take up to 4 months depending on how my art goes in terms of inspiration. In terms of my personal goal, this came to me almost instantly. It had been a frequent discussion between me and my mom that I need to focus on self care and taking care of my space. My goal is to keep my room as tidy as possible. This one would be a bit more tricky for me, I’ve been so used to my big room and having stuff all over didn’t look like that big of a mess. Now that I’ve moved, my room is considerably smaller, and having simply a blanket on the floor looks like it took up an entire quarter of my space. The difficulty of the task for me made me come up with a lot of good ideas about how I could go about it. The best way that would be most suitable for me, and has worked in the past has been to not allow me to do anything I liked doing until I did it first. Business before pleasure. That and doing it in little bits until it’s finished made this goal so much easier for me. In the end, these goals will be able to help me accomplish my big goals I have in life, and help me take care of myself. These goals will take me a lot of time and effort, but if I believe in myself, I will be able to do it. |
